Member story: template

A member story is a short conversation with one person about living with their treatment. This page holds the structure. Nothing below is a real person yet.

Key takeaways

  • Every story is told in the member's own words, approved by them before it goes live.
  • We never write a story for someone, and we never pay for a result.
  • No medical claim in a story is presented as advice. It is one person's experience.

Editor's note: how we choose and check stories

We ask people who already use Reko if they would like to talk. We do not ask for the best result. We ask for an honest one, including the hard parts.

Before anything is published, the member reads the full text, changes what they like, and gives written consent. They can withdraw it later, and we then remove the story.

We check facts about medicines against the official label, not against memory. Where a member mentions a dose, a number or a side effect, we leave it as their experience and add a note that it is not a recommendation. We do not publish photos or details that could identify someone unless they ask us to.

Reko is independent. It is funded by subscriptions, with no pharma money and no ads. A member story is never a paid placement.

The questions

We ask these in this order. Members can skip any of them.

1. Who are you?

[Member's answer: a few lines about themselves, in their words]

2. What led you to start treatment?

[Member's answer]

3. What worried you before you began?

[Member's answer]

4. What did you notice first?

[Member's answer]

5. What has been harder than expected?

[Member's answer]

6. How do you keep your record?

This is where the member may mention how they log doses, side effects or weight. We include it only if it is true for them, and we do not ask them to praise Reko.

[Member's answer]

7. What would you tell someone starting out?

[Member's answer]

Closing line

Every story ends with the same sentence: this is one person's experience, and it is not medical advice. Talk to your own prescriber about your own treatment.
